Had a nice couple hundred mile ride on Friday. The weather was in the low to mid 80's under a somewhat broken clouded sky with the promise of scattered rain showers.
I didn't head out until after 10am so I defintely got a later start that usual. It was beautiful out with clear skies out toward my direction.

I hadn't made my final decision as to my route or destination. Was I going up toward Chama and the Cumbres Toltec stretch, on into southern Colorado and then the reverse route home or, the counter clockwise loop back thru Zia and Jemez reservations dropping me back into Los Alamos thru the Jemez Mtns. Both offered a scenic couple hundred mile run.
All in all the roads were pretty clear. I stop off at my usual spot just south of Abiqui reservoir and take it in. It's still got it.

I continue on with the run, as I approach Abiqui Res I make a quick left for the loop back through the Jemez Mtns. At this stage I can see off in my general distant direction some pretty dark clouds. Due to the miles still to be traveled and twists in the road, I can't be sure if it'll be waiting for me or not. Most of the stretch along 550S didn't really look promising for a dry run.
These shots were taken along Hwy 4E. Lots of folks scattered around for picnicking and camping for the holiday weekend. The temps begin to drop quickly from the mid 80's to about 60. A light rain sprinkles in and its actually quite refreshing.

For the most part through the mountains there wasn't much more rain but some patches of the road were a bit wet.
I pull in to the driveway before 3pm with another couple hundred on the odometer. Another great day run done.
Now, put on the work hat, off to the airport for a 4 day conference in Chicago.
Take care all.
