They are too neutral in handling for one thing. I prefer tires with more turn-in, as is the case with Avon's.  They are noisy as hell and have had me in panic mode for a few thousand miles now because I thought I had a bearing or worse wrong with the rear end. (Vibration and noise) Going down the highway I don't notice the noise but lean into a nice curve and they start howling and making me think something is wrong.  Howling is probably overstating it a bit but they make way to much noise for me.  With a little more wear they have settled down some, but I only have a few thousand miles left in this set.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with E3's, I just don't like them.  Very few of you probably ride the way I do, so your experience will more than likely be totally different.

Different strokes I suppose. Smiley

I agree with Scott on the noise...
Plus I had them skip and slide in twisties... Then again I ride different from most  Roll Eyes...
Plus I only got 8k from the front tire ...
The side walls are very stiff... I had them slide in rain...Cupped real fast..

Highbinder(Don) only got 9k from his... He didn't like the noise and no mileage from them...And a grip problem..VA twisties ...

We both get 12-15k from Avon's (Venom)... Will be putting Avon (Cobras) on real soon... I hope they do as well as the Venom's...

Now I have heard other folks like them... But I think it really depends how and what part of the country that you ride...

I know Smokin'Joe doesn't like them..He rides a lot of twisties as we do...

Not everyone knows LadyDraco rides a trike....so, she rides a trike.  Her tire wear will be totally different from ours.  Living in Virginia, they ride alot more curves, alot more agressively than in our part of the country.  Hence they wear our tires much faster than most of you would.

I ride lots of chip sealed roads out here where I live so I don't get very good mileage out of tires either. Chip sealed roads eat tires if you ride hard like I do.  Maybe 10k out of a rear Avon or E3.  Most of you could probably get closer to 15-20k....

I only say this so people won't get the idea that E3's don't last long because they do.  I think they are the longest lasting tire available for the Valk.  I just don't like them personally.

Scott that's why I told Don's and Joe's feelings...
They DO NOT ride trikes ...
And there mileage on them... Joe had his really slide in twisties...
And yes tar & chip really eat up tires...
Back at the old place I could only get 10k from Avons...

But the three of us ride a lot of twisties in the Mountains...
