Nope, not this year.

I just don't have the time to plan and organize it.

If  you would like to plan the Robbers Cave Event, sign a contract with the lodge, fork over the cash for the common room, get the caterer for the saturday night meal(and pay up if we don't have enough people show to cover the cost), plan the ride, print maps of the ride, (print, distribute, and get signed liability release forms), and lead the group ride I'll be happy to ride over and enjoy the weekend.  (Oh, and don't forget the email promotion, code up the website for registration/who's going...and keeping track of it all)

Heck Scott, when you candy coat it all up like that, what's the hold up???  Roll Eyes

Sounds like it use to be quite a bit easier when everybody just met up out there for a nice day and maybe lunch ride.

Although long overdue, much thanks Scott for all that behind the scenes stuff you did for the group. I know you weren't asking for it but thanks anyway. I don't think many of us realize the depth of pulling these runs together. Thanks again old buddy, I know I sure enjoyed them.  Wink

So did anyone make it to Talimena Drive this year? If so, lets see them pic's.

Sorry for the vent folks, I've just had alot on the ole plate the last couple of years.  Just haven't had the time I used to, and more to the point, haven't made the time.  For that, I'm sorry.

For those that might think organizing a ride or event around here might be stepping on some toes(mine), nothing could be further than the truth.  I provide this website because I want to, not because I'm "In charge".  So if you want to put a ride together, just post it up and get some folks out there riding.

I guess the way I was looking at it, if the gang wants to do the full blown ride/event with giveaway prizes, ride/games, mapped routes, formal meals, etc then several folks would need to step forward to take on one or more of the many assignments to make it happen.

Option 2, just meet up and ride, maybe have lunch somewhere and head back, kinda like a Meer's burger run. Maybe that way folks could get together and ride a little bit more.

But that's just me and I don't really get to make much of the Sooner Gang rides anymore these days but I sure do miss them.  Sad

Now as far as who's in charge... well I think this should help clear things up...
