Getting ready for the first snow fall this weekend so they say .. Huh
WE had a few wet flurries some time back but it was at night and it didn't stick..
But this year we are ready... Bought a Roof Rake to make snow removal off the roofs easier..
We had way to much damage to gutters and down spouts last year from all the snow and Ice Dams...

The Barn is chucked full of hay

Don did a good deal of brushogging this year..

The cattle are doing great!!

Poncho is as big as ever!! Oh he is now 2nd in command !!
He seems to have had a battle with Tory!! No one was hurt..Other then pride.

Lefty is looking good..

Cisco's horns are twisting

The NEW herd leader Tory...Yeah he doesn't look so massive but trust me he is !

Charro has grown well, she is still cute as a button..

Tuco is really showing her dairy cow /longhorn breeding...

Yazhi  has grown into a little bull!!
Not to bad looking too,for a calf that almost died this past winter..

No pix of Castanet she didn't want her pix taken... Cheesy

This year it looks like we will once again increase the heard.. Remember they went walkabout, well they came home with a beautiful Charolais Bull for a few weeks.. Then when they were finished with him they walked him back home   Grin  Ya got to love longhorns/Corriente ... So it looks like calves in Jan/Feb/March ! Oh my...  Shocked
I'm not looking forward to checking in the wee hours again in deep snow...
If we don't have big snow on the ground I will not have to keep a very close eye on them ...
So I am looking for NOT much snow.. But I fear that will not be the case

Looks like quite a herd you got going there. Still looks like a lot of green for you so far.

I've been hearing that it isn't suppose to be as heavy a winter this year out this way. We'll see.  Huh

The photos were taken in on Oct 8th...  It's all brown and no more leaves on the trees..
And it spit snow all day, thank goodness the ground is a bit warm yet for it to stick...
