Dragons to The Cave! 2011

I have spoken to Sheila, the nice lady at Robbers Cave State Park and she is preparing for an invasion of Dragons on the 20th of May 2011!
She still had the information from the last time we were there in 2008 and did not threaten to call the police on me, so I’m taking that as a sign we are welcome to visit again.
The accommodation prices are as follows:
Cabins: None available for our dates of 20-23 May.
Double room: $97.58 for two adults and $10 extra for each additional adult.
RV sites with full hookups: $23.00
RV sites with electric: $20.00
Tent Camping: $12.00

That’s all for now, just wanted to let ya’ll know I’m working the trip.  As soon as I get a chance I’ll run over there and reconnoiter the area and post more as I know it.

 I just called them and made sure all of the schedulers know we are coming in as a group.
They asked that we let them know we are with the “Valkyrie Riders” and they will attempt to get the rooms and camp sites in the same area.

We will be camping and have selected an RV site with water and electric. (We camp with a bit of luxury!)

There are only like 10-12 rooms in the lodge, and they are all in a row....so there isn't really much to putting everyone together. 

I've said this in years past, and I'll repeat for those that don't remember or aren't aware.  There are only like 10-12 rooms in the lodge.  If you want to stay there, you need to reserve your room NOW.  Robbers cave is a popular wedding location, and May/June are prime wedding months.  If we don't get all the rooms early, they will certainly be filled by tourists or wedding parties.  There are cheaper rooms in Wilburton, but its 5 miles into town and away from all the fun.

Budman, if/when you make a run down there you might want to scout out additional lodging information in Wilburton for those who inevitably won't get a room reservation before they are all gone and/or when the lodge fills up.

Just reserved my room at the lodge (unless the wife tells me to move it) and we will be there!
Knee is gimpy today...so no riding to work for a  few weeks.  Hope to be all healed up and ready to ride!

So far we have folks from Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
I will be going over there for a recon sortie right after the first of the year and will post more information as soon as I have it.  I know from the last visit the Oklahoma Valk Riders did there, we basically booked all the rooms in the lodge.  Let's see if we can fill them up again!

I’m so glad to see the interest in our little gathering!
I will be going over there within a month or so to do some final planning and lay out several rides in the area.  The folks at the park have been very helpful and I am looking forward to my planning visit, even though it will be too cold for my taste. Yeah, yeah, I know I’m a wuss. But hey, Enid Oklahoma is as far North as I have ever lived, and that was only for a year!
I’ll post a lot more after I get a chance to visit the area and get more details finalized.
