HI folks! I'm new to the message board. Wishing I'd been with you all at Robbers Cave and Tucamcari but my husband's Valk was in Colorado all summer. Is it fair to leave him behind? Or should he have ridden b---- on mine?

HA! Anyway, he's looking for a different seat to ride long distance. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! Beth aka Dragon Rider
I'll throw my two cents in. First of all, keep in mind that everyone's backside is made differently, so what works for one person might not be right for everyone.
I ride a Russell Day-Long like LadyDraco and Highbinder. In my opinion, it is the very best seat made for the Valkyrie. Buying one isn't as simple as going to a website and ordering online, but going through the process of ordering one is worth the extra effort.
When people ask me what I recommend, I usually ask a few questions first. You said he wanted a different seat to ride long distance. When you say that, do you mean a long trip lasting a week or more where you ride 300-400 miles per day? Or do you mean riding 500+ miles per day, for multiple days? If you mean the former, then something like one of the
Ultimate Seats might work fine. If you mean the latter, then you might as well save yourself the trouble and purchase a Russell and be done with it.
Back in July, I rode over 800 miles on the first day of my trip to Michigan for Inzane. It was hot as hell, and I was tired as heck when I stopped but my backside did not hurt for a single mile of that days ride. On any other brand of seat, for MY backside, I would have been in pain after 400 miles.
