Happy 4th to all. We too had a bunch of folks, mostly family, over to our house for burgers, homemade ice cream and all that stuff. We live outside the city limits so we blew up all the fireworks everyone brought with them. No one was hurt and everyone had a good time.

See you guys at Inzane.

I hope all kids and grandkids had a safe time, no bruised and / or numb finger tips this am.
I put the backseat and backrest on for my 10yr old to ride with me through the Bethany FreedomFest parade yesterday morning. We rode with the good Nazarene folks, 'Jerichos Thunder' from Bethany 1st Naz by SNU.
We went to Mustang on Mon evening. That town partys it up for the 4th. They put on quite a show and you can also shoot fireworks ANYWHERE in city limits. Smiley

See you guys next week.

Glad to hear you all had a good time for the 4th.  My son came down from Missouri, so I got to visit and then celebrate with friends with hotdogs, homemade ice cream, fireworks, and then we turned on the music and danced a bit to end the evening.  I'm a new Valk owner, but it looks like you all are a great group.

Not much to tell at this point.  The valk is a '98 Standard that is just shy of 25K miles.  I would call that barely broke in.  I've had it for 2 weeks now.  After the first week, it started showing a temp problem, but I think it is probably an electrical thing and not truly overheated.

This is my first Valk.  I'm in the process of building a '67 BMW with a '73 engine and drivedrain.  Motorcycle of course.  I live in Cleveland and work in Stillwater.  I repair medical equipment for a living.  I'm also a member of the NEOBMW Club.  I'm developing a fondness for boxers.  Six cylinders is much more fun than two.

I'll add more as I think about it and look forward to meeting you all in the future.  The bike is about due for a set of tires, so I guess I'll find out if lubing the splines on a Valk is much different than on the Beemer.

Harold,

I ride a 97 Std, Purple and White.  I've had it since 99 when I bought it from a co-worker.

I live out in Western Oklahoma, due west of Stilwater.  In fact, I'm only a few miles from Hwy 51.  I do however work in Weatherford, Ok.

The Valk is a great bike, no doubt.  I wouldn't part with mine!

I'd love to see pics of that BMW too.  Sounds cool as heck!
