My time finally came I guess.  Crunched the V-Strom tonight. !#$!@#$%^

I was running about 60mph when I saw it, and nailed the brakes.  Hit the deer in its front shoulder running 35 or so.  Took the brunt of the hit down my left side.  Somehow I never lost control, and never went down.

I'm fine, but the bike didn't fair so well.  I'll have to wait until tomorrow when its light out to see what all damage was done.

Happened 5 miles from home....

DAMNIT!

Good thing is your not hurt. Could have been worse. I saw a man and wife years ago hit a cow up by Medford and they didn't fare so will. She broke here hip, leg and shoulder. He was banged up but not bad. Bike was missed up but rideable and he had to take her toward the hospital on it. Thats when we came along and hauled her the doctor. So like I said you came out on the good end. Hope not much damage to bike. Later

Glad to hear your all right.  Bummer about the bike.  I've come close several times with deer in the last few years, but I've been lucky enough to miss everything but an armadillo.

Glad to hear you're ok....deer are the one factor you can not control.....perhaps the time you spent putting the new tires on is what helped save your butt.......  Cheesy

Whew! Close call. I'll bet your heart was pumping after that. Not that it matters, but what became of the deer? Do you have fresh venison in your freezer?

Credit your riding skills for not going down. Hitting a moving target at 35 mph probably would have put most people on the ground.

Except for having a broken bike, there was a happy ending to this story. Glad you're alright. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Scott I'll call you tonight, we were out visiting the parents and didn't get home until late, saw you had called but went to bed (still wore out from CBR).

Glad your not hurt and that must be a tough bike.

I hope the repair work doesn't take to long.

Dang! Sorry to hear the news but glad you are OK.  Hope you terminated that @#%$ deer with extreme prejudice, though.

Looks like a lot of plastic busted up. I'm sure it's only a few hundred dollars damage.

You feel sore today at all?
