I did get a ride with BudMan this past weekend  

We did have a great ride on the Trace this past weekend!  I broke formation early and headed across to Jackson TN for a family visit.  I didn't realize the exit was coming up so soon and I didn't get to say goodbye to the group.  I figured there was another fuel stop before my exit. Oops.
I got off the Trace at the Meriwether Lewis monument. Here are a couple of shots of the area.


This is a view down the original Trace.  It was so still and quiet there that I could almost feel the history of the place.  It took little imagination to envision Indians and early settlers making their way up and down the Trace. 
It was a GREAT ride!  We need to take an Okie Crew next year!

[I have been riding my black bike without a windshield since May..I love it till a rock or a big bug hits my face..I did find out that my new helmet works much better then the old one..I did put the WS back on for this last ride due to I had to use my old helmet..But it ws is off again...]

Gary,  I didn't do go very long without a windshield.  I bought a small one called a Spitfire, it keeps the worst of the wind off my chest.

Nope, no ticket here. 20+ mph over just isn't my riding style. Besides they had their radar detectors so they were in the zone. 

Get them RR's up to date LD, this board has been taking a siesta for too long.

Hey Jim, that 750 sure brings back some memories. How are you liking that no windshield action at interstate speeds?

Hmmm  I lived in Ada for a while at the racetrack..

  I haven't ridden alot this summer since I got back from my IBA 50cc run.  I have been working in Texas Monday thru Friday all year and there just doesn't seem like the weekends are long enough to get everything I need to do and ride too.     
  I have rode the 750 around here locally some and I've even rode it to Shawnee twice.  The 750 is running like a top but at highway speed the handlebars are buzzing enough that by the time I get back from Shawnee my hands are numb.  While the 750 works for exactly what I bought and restored it, I can't help but appreciate how much our bikes have improved in the last 32 years.
  Speaking of bikes improving The Motorcycle Cannonball Run will be passing thru Oklahoma on Sept. 19th.  The website  http://www.motorcyclecannonball.com/  says they will be stopping in Ada for lunch and then stop for the night in Lawton.  I am planning on seeing the bikes in Ada and maybe riding with them for awhile if they don't care.  What's really special is that all of the bikes are 1915 or older.

Here's a few shots from a lunch run trip up to Colorado.
Sport bikes in the group for the most part so needless to say I was definitely bringing up the rear. I had forgotten that the law doesn't apply to sport bikes as far as speed limits and crossing over double yellows for passing.

Rain? We did hit some but the oversized shield on the IS seemed to take care of most of it.


A good trip overall.

I just got back from a trip to Vegas for a several day conference and got to spend some time with the daughter and grandkids. Took them on a little train ride in Boulder, NV.


That's about it for now. No big plans for Labor Day weekend how about you??? Let's see what you've been doing!!!

Hey, Budman.  Sheppard, Lackland, Dyess or one of the others?

I was at Carswell in Ft Worth learning to fly the B-52 D-Model, then flew them at Dyess, back to Carswell as an Instructor, then over to Guam for a couple of years, back to Carswell to write training material for the B-1B, then back to Dyess to fly the B-1B.
Carswell, Dyess, Guam, Carswell, Dyess. Yeah, I did a bit of time in West TX for sure!
