Monday afternoon was bad in my area.  Freezing drizzle started in a little before noon and put down a quarter inch layer on everything.  My 48 mile drive home took a little over 2 hours.  We then got a layer of sleet starting at 5 am the next morning.  I went to work late and came home a bit early, just to even it out.  Fortunately, at 12 degrees, the sleet layer actually improved the roads a bit.  Also, by Tuesday morning, they had managed to salt/sand the major highways.  This morning began bright and sunny at 8 degrees.  Roads were about like they were the night before, slick but passable.  Afternoon warmed up to 36 so the drive home was great.  Supposed to be a bit warmer the next few days.  24 right now.

I am so glad it turned to sleet....that wouldnt stop....all day on Tuesday...I finally said screw it and took the kids for a ride around 3pm....was fine in the sleet...but that ice is a booger.
