Each June Highbinder & Smokin'Joe sets up a big ride ..
For our Valkyrie club...
This year we took 65 Valkyries to West Virginia .. We were going to stay @ Marlinton buy TheBYOB beat us to the dates...:lol3
So we stayed in Franklin @ The Thompson's Motel and booked every bed in Franklin and the surrounding area...

Friday morning we planned to meet up with a few riders
As we wait for a few more riders to meet up with us @ Richcreek..

It was a good time to kick tires and have some coffee..

The bikes wait...Ready to head down the road...

Ah the last rider shows up refuels..

MtnHawk is ready to go...

It might be a VRCC ride .. But ADV was there in stickers ..CH &BWDR

We get to Union and it's dinner time ... Lets check out the local cafe..

Medic and Dubsvalk in deep conversion...

MtnHawk talks to Fendermenders buddies...

We took everyone the longway around to Franklin...
It was getting so hot ,that it was time to rehydrate and it would be the last stop..

When we made it to the Motel it was already packed ..Valks every where..

Highbinder showing off his new pants... :lol3 Long story short .. He sat down and ripped his old ones... And I only packed the 1 pair :huh..
Thank goodness  when we lived in the area I remembered  a little flower shop that also had jeans..
We had made it there 10min before they closed..:clap

We had this big ole TomCat visit us...

Our good friend from TX showed up :clap HotGlue & Flamingobabe..

The guy rode all the way from Ohio on this tire !! :yikes He spent all Sat finding a tire.. And missed the ride...

Saturday Morning.........

Smokin'Joe checking out the staging area...

HG & FB getting ready...And all the others...

We'll start the group toward Smokehole...

Dragon herding at it's best

We pass Sites Farm..

That's my buddy Lucky13 his mate MeanStreak...

....

Just as we make the turn on to Smokehole road we hear over the CB that the Spyder has gone into Limp mode :huh
That can't be good..  So FB & HG turn around and head back to the motel...

The cool rocks on Smokehole road...

At this point we keep going to the end of the road and stop...
I tel Highbinder that I'll turn around and head back to see if I can help HG & FB with the bike.. Plus I know the whole route and when we get things fixed we will meet up with the group..  As I get ready to leave FenderMender says I'll go to.. And help as well...Cool.....

Well what happened was a screw fell out and hit the ABS  teeth chewed up about 9 !!
FenderMender said if we can just tap the teeth straight maybe the sensor can read it  .. I had a punch and a hammer .. FenderMender fixed it :clap!! FB rode the Spyder around the lot and it came out of Limp mode!!   And we are off to meet the group... It was so nice that it all worked out..
So I point us and headed to  RedLick ...

We met up with them on Rt 28 and the rains hit hard... LOL Highbinder had my raingear !!!I was soaked !!!

But the sun came back out and I dried off...

We had Dinner server by the 4H kids .. They did a heck of a job ...

We ate on top of Droop mountain...

Staging again to head out...

The fuel stop outside of Marlinton..

Then took the group down to rt 600..  A stop and regroup...

We took all our old favorite roads we use to ride..

The bikes spread out a few times..

Now back into BlueGrass Valley..  We lived there for 20+ years...

Heading back to Franklin...

It was a great ride ... And we really enjoyed being able to show the club our old stomping grounds..
They all want to revisit it for 2012 ... We will see ... Highbinder and Smokin'Joe like to change it each year...

Oh there are more photos... I'll get that part up soon....

In Memory of the Late Andy Rooney ..
And now the rest of the Story....

Being that we had to change to route a few times on Sat ,due to the heavy rains we had to cut out 2 of the stops , (GreenBank & BearTown)..
So on the way home we took our friends to them.. It was a beautiful day..

We stated with running US33.. And the classic view German Valley..

Then it was off to GreenBank...We did play inside for a little..

Then it was time to head towards Cass...

WE pulled in just in time to see the train pull out ...

Run more Mountain twisties...

We stared to head towards Bear Town State Park .. I love this place have been there at least 8 times...

All the Boardwalks in BearTown are very cool...

Everyone sure was digging it..

The rock formations are just a site to behold..

FenderMender holding the rocks back so we can all walk..

HG & FB are from TX .. They are really digging the Boardwalk through BearTown..

Just look at that tree, and where it is growing ...

Highbinder & I just love BearTown...

Time for a group shot...

They have really done a very nice thing..

Everyone taking pic...

One more Groupshot in Grayscale...

There are many cool passage ways  through BearTown..
If you have never been .. A stop at BearTown State Park is a must..

Maybe I was wrong, just sseing your pic's probably wont suffice.

What a great trip. The roads looked great for cruising and Bear Park seems like a must stroll!

Thanks for pulling this together and posting, I'm really enjoying it.  Grin
