The 3rd Annual SSVR Fall Wrench Party will be October 6th. It will be held here at my home in Chandler. Everybody is welcome to come, even our Texas and Kansas neighbors. If you need some help doing maintenance or repairs on your Valk we will have tools and people to help you. There may also be some visiting and lies told too. I will be doing hamburgers and fixins again and soft drinks will be provided. Please post in the tread if you will be attending so I will know how many hamburgers to cook. The starting time is around 10:00 AM and it's over whenever??? Directions From the intersection of I-44 and SH-18 go north 5/10's of a mile. There will be a sign with arrows pointing left (west) to the golf course and lake. Turn west on Lake Road. Follow that road thru two sweeping right curves for 2.3 miles. Just past the boat dock when the road turns to the west again, go straight (follow golf course sign) for 4/10's of a mile. Turn left at the Woodlake Estates subdivision entrance (gravel road) and go to the end (1/8 mile) and turn right on Hickory Lane. My home is the third one on the left. 3505 East Hickory Lane[/b]

That sounds great Jim!
Those are always fun, and to dig into some Orr-burgers is a treat also.
I'll will put a 'time off request' and see if it gets a stamp of approval.

I've been looking forward to the next Wrench Party. It's always a kick for me.
Like Tim, I'll put in a leave request...to myself. Yup, it's been approved. I'll be there.

Man I hate to miss this but I've got another commitment. Seems as though my High School Classmates think they have to have a reunion on the 5th and 6th! I guess they didn't know I had tinkering to do and ORR BURGERS to eat. Ya'll have a great time and I'll catch the spring party.

Here's a heads up for the Wrench Party participants. As some of you know my Valk suffered a drive line failure immediatly after my trip last week. The diagnosis is the drive shaft and the gear cup along with the bearing is TOAST. All have to be replaced to the tune of $200.00 (work being done at "Renegades Trike Shop" in Glenpool). It seems as though the gear cup and shaft dried out, no grease or lube of any kind. As a result the splines in both just spun out, pretty much round. No warning to speak of, just a couple of pops about 150 miles from the house (first pop I thought I hit a rock, second pop I suspected maybe a u-joint). It was running fine when I pulled into town, killed the bike for about 30 minutes and as I fired up and took off the drive train just let lose. SSOOO, if you are into the rear end of your bike it might be wise to check this area and make sure it is lubricating properly. Maybe if I would have checked it two weeks ago at my last tire change I could have avoided the problem. Just something to think about.
